Dharmendra Pradhan urges state to provide 100acre land for ICTIOC campus

A total 60 students have taken admission in the integrated M Tech in chemical engineering course. This campus is the extension of the ICT-Mumbai. BHUBANESWAR: Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday expressed concern over the state government’s lackadaisical attitude in providing land for the permanent campus of the Institute of Chemical Technology-Indian Oil Corporation (ICT-IOC) Bhubaneswar here.He said this while inaugurating the academic session of the first batch of 5-year integrated M Tech course in chemical engineering at the ICT-IOC Bhubaneswar campus here on Friday.He said the institute has already requested the state government to arrange 100 acres of land for the national institute. Though the institute has already agreed to pay for the land according to the government rate, he said, nothing is materialized yet.IndianOil chairman Sanjiv Singh said it is a special feeling to be associated with this academic institution, which will create thousands of youngsters to lead the petroleum and chemical sector of tomorrow.Objective of IOC-ICT partnership is to extend peer expertise of ICT, Mumbai, in the field of chemical science and engineering and technology by providing best-in-class academic and research facilities in Bhubaneswar.It will offer five-year integrated M Tech in chemical engineering, executive M Tech in chemical engineering for working professionals, besides offering Ph D programmes.
