Odisha Huge demand for PM Narendra Modi masks

The city market is flooded with Modi masks "The Modi mask is a new product in the market and there is a huge demand for it. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done a great job by taking revenge through air strikes after the Pulwama terror attack. It costs around Rs 60 to Rs 120 depending upon size," said Sudam Sahoo, the owner of a shop in Choudhury Bazar. "We are selling eco-friendly colours because there is a demand for these. Herbal colours do not harm the skin or eyes and have a beautiful fragrance," said Gopal Chandra Pradhan, another shop-keeper.

CUTTACK: The upcoming elections have added a political touch to the festival of colours. Besides, masks modelled after Dracula and popular cartoon characters, wigs and eco-friendly colours are also in demand, he added.The water gun that is a must in every child's Holi kitty has some new designs in the market. Among these are the rocket launchers. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done a great job by taking revenge through air strikes after the Pulwama terror attack. We would wear the Modi mask and use rocket launcher water gun this Holi," said Utkarsh Tripathy, a buyer, adding, it lends a patriotic flavour to the festival.Bapu Sahoo, a shop-keeper in Jhola Sahi, has already sold 600 pieces of the rocket launcher water gun despite the prohibitive price of Rs 350 each. "Many customers are asking for it and I am not able to provide," said Sahoo.More than 300 vendors have put up shops across the city to sell 'gulal' and Holi merchandise. The shops are also selling herbal colours and colourful wigs that protect the skin and hair."We are selling eco-friendly colours because there is a demand for these. Herbal colours do not harm the skin or eyes and have a beautiful fragrance," said Gopal Chandra Pradhan, another shop-keeper.
