No Metro Train Service In Bhubaneswar And Cuttack Till 2041

Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena answered in a reply to a question Congress MLA Suresh Routray in the Assembly.

Odisha government has not given a green light to the metro rail project between the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar till 2041 due to lack of feasibility, Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena informed in the assembly.

In a reply to a question by Congress MLA from Jatani Mr Suresh Routray, the minister said the government will not submit any proposal to the Centre government citing an unsuitable report on feasibility survey.

M/s Balaji Railroad Systems LTD, a Hyderabad based company was entrusted with the survey. The company found out that the metro service is not feasible based on population.
