Record 86% students clear Class X state board exam

CUTTACK: In keeping with the trend, this year too Odisha achieved its best-ever pass percentage of 86.37 in matriculation examination, the results of which were declared on Wednesday. In fact, it bettered last year's record by registering a one per cent increase from 85.2.Expressing happiness over the performance of students, school and mass education minister Debi Prasad Mishra said, "Odisha has set a record by announcing its matriculation results so early. Our students have performed really well in the examination." At least 37.87% of the total passouts have scored more than 60 per cent marks, he added.The Board of Secondary Education , which conducts the matriculation examination in the state , attributed the success to the reforms undertaken by it.
