Cuttack traders to boycott Chinese products

If traders here manage to boycott Chinese products then traders across the state will follow the suit. "Malgodown traders mainly deal with edible products so we don't sell any kind of Chinese products. We are also appealing people not to buy any Chinese products," said Mohanty. But traders across the state deal with variety of Chinese products like electronic items, decorative pieces and we want all of them to boycott it. CUTTACK: In the wake of the growing tension between India and China, Cuttack Chamber of Commerce( CCC ) has decided to urge traders' community in the state to boycott Chinese products completely.In its council meeting at Malgodown on Friday, the CCC has decided to take up massive awareness drive across the state to create awareness among traders to shun Chinese products.

CUTTACK: In the wake of the growing tension between India and China, Cuttack Chamber of Commerce( CCC ) has decided to urge traders' community in the state to boycott Chinese products completely.In its council meeting at Malgodown on Friday, the CCC has decided to take up massive awareness drive across the state to create awareness among traders to shun Chinese products. Initially, the CCC will start its awareness from Cuttack only."Malgodown traders mainly deal with edible products so we don't sell any kind of Chinese products. But traders across the state deal with variety of Chinese products like electronic items, decorative pieces and we want all of them to boycott it. We are boosting the economy of a country which treats us as their enemy. As an Indian it is our duty to stand by our country," said CCC's general secretary, B K Mohanty The traders' outfit will also down shutters of their commercial establishments for one day to protest against China's highhandedness on Indian borders. "We will discuss the matter with our counterparts in Bhubaneswar and will then decide the exact date to observe the bandh," added Mohanty.Members of CCC have urged other trader associations in Cuttack to support them in the cause."Cuttack is the commercial capital of Odisha. If traders here manage to boycott Chinese products then traders across the state will follow the suit. We will hold meetings with other trader associations and will appeal them to extend their support for the cause. We are also appealing people not to buy any Chinese products," said Mohanty.
