Cuttack: Family and supporters of Cuttack- Choudwar MLA Pravat Biswal, who was arrested by CBI in connection with Seashore chit fund scam, have alleged foul play behind his arrest. Arta Ranjan Biswal , younger brother of Pravat, on Tuesday claimed that his brother has become a victim of a conspiracy orchestrated by BJP. "He is completely innocent and has nothing to do with the chit fund scam. The CBI has falsely implicated him at the behest of BJP party," said Arta.Arta has alleged that BJP has planned a conspiracy against his Pravat, a three time MLA, eyeing the 2019 elections. "My brother is a popular leader and enjoys strong support of people in Cuttack. The BJP leaders want to tarnish his image by framing him in such scams. But people know Pravat very well and the cheap tactics of BJP will yield no results," said Arta.He also alleged that Pravat had completely cooperated with the CBI since 2014, when the investigating agency took up probe of chit fund scam in Odisha. In last three years, Biswal and his wife have been interrogated several times by CBI in connection with Ponzi firm Seashore."If my brother had done anything wrong then he would have hesitated in visiting the CBI. Whenever the investigating agency called him, my brother fully cooperated with them. In last three years, the CBI found no evidence against my brother. But surprisingly on Monday night, they stumbled upon such evidence that lead to his arrest. This is not digestible," alleged Arta.Pravat's family and supporters have alleged that the entire conspiracy has been chalked out by BJP leader and union minister Dharmendra Pradhan. "The BJP has failed poorly in Cuttack-Choudwar constituency in previous elections. Dharmendra Pradhan wants to make inroads into the constituency by affecting Pravat's image," said Samar Das, Pravat's supporter. EOM
