  • | Friday | 16th December, 2022

After the shocking incident of acid attack on a 17-year-old school going girl by two boys in the Mohan Garden area of Dwarka District, it came to fore that the acid used in the commission of crime was procured from the online shopping website FlipKart by the accused. Considering the seriousness of the open sale of acid online, the police have served the shopping portal with a legal notice. Meanwhile, after the disclosure by the accused of purchasing the Nitric Acid used in the crime from Flipkart, the company has now removed the product from its website. This was done, after the company came under heavy criticism for selling acids openly, despite a ban on the item. On the other hand, a day after the incident, the treatment of the victim girl is being carried out in the hospital and doctors are monitoring the situation regularly. According to the hospital sources, the left eye of the victim is more affected by the acid, while a total of 8 percent of the victim’s face is burnt during the incident. She has been sent to the Ophthalmology Department for further treatment. If sources are to be believed, the victim will have to undergo treatment for the next couple of weeks. On the other hand, the police team have obtained two days remand of the main accused Sachin Arora (20), along with his two accomplices Harshit Agarwal (19) and Virender Singh (22) from the court.
