In a letter to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta brought to light the grave issue of sexual harassment at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College. Gupta urged Saxena to intervene in the matter and ensure justice. Highlighting the matter Gupta called the sexual harassment by Assistant Professor Salim Sheikh a matter of grave concern. This incident not only constitutes a severe violation of the students rights and safety but also represents a significant failure on the part of the institution and the Delhi government to take adequate action against the perpetrator. The silence and inaction by the AAP Government surrounding this incident have resulted in increased distress for the victims and their families, highlighting an urgent need for intervention, said Gupta. Gupta has laid out a series of demands to the LG office, including removal of Professor Sheikh from his position pending the outcome of the investigation to prevent any further intimidation or harassment of the students. Gupta also demanded that the Medical College Committee responsible for the welfare of female students has failed in its duties and should be disbanded.  Members of the Medical College Committee should be held accountable for their negligence in handling the complaints of sexual harassment.
