Cops rescue woman, dog from burning apartment in Kotla Mubarak Pur

The Delhi Police rescued a 70-year-old woman living on oxygen support and an unconscious dog after a fire broke out in a flat in a south Delhi multi-storey in the Kotla Mubarak Pur area due to a spark in the air conditioner on Wednesday. According to the police on Thursday, at around 07:50 pm in the evening a PCR Call about a fire in a house on the first floor in Triloki Colony was received at Kotla Mubarak Pur police station. A team rushed to the spot immediately and made way for the fire tenders and ambulance. The police found a woman trapped inside who suffers from lung disease, diabetes, and relies on an oxygen cylinder for survival. While the fire was being controlled, the police staff found a woman trapped inside, struggling to breathe due to the fumes. Further it was revealed that she suffers from lung disease, diabetes, and relies on an oxygen cylinder for survival. Additionally, she is unable to move from her bed due to a fractured hip, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Ankit Chauhan. The police shifted the septuagenarian to a safe place.  The woman was trapped inside a room, she was struggling to breathe due to the fumes. While the fire was being doused, a team of police along with the son of the woman entered the room where she was trapped and safely shifted her from the engulfed room to another room, he said. Meanwhile, a dog was also found lying unconscious at the spot who was rescued by giving CPCR with the help of the public. Subsequently, the dog was shifted to a Veterinarian Hospital in Defence colony area. With timely treatment, the dogs life was saved as well. According to the police, the fire was completely extinguished which was probably caused by sparking in the air conditioner in the house.
