All Lok Sabha poll preparations completed in Gurugram: Official

District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Gurugram Nishant Kumar Yadav informed that all preparations regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections have been completed in Gurugram. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Yadav said the sixth phase of voting in the Gurugram Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency is to be held on May 25. In nine assembly segments of the Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency, 2,407 general polling stations, 74 auxiliary polling stations and 86 polling stations for weaker section voters have been created. A total of 25,33,958 voters will exercise their franchise at all these booths. Of which 13,51,239 are male voters and 12,2,641 are female voters. The number of third-gender voters in Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency is 78. Also, there are a total of 35, 559 voters above 85 years of age and the number of voters with more than 40 per cent disability is 15,231 in the Gurugram constituency. Voting time on May 25 has been fixed from 7 am to 6 pm. This time in the elections, people above 85 years of age and people with more than 40 per cent disability will be able to vote from home. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, within five days of the issuance of the notification, the BLOs of the concerned area will go door-to-door to the identified voters and get Form 12-D filled and submitted. In this, it is the voters discretion whether to fill out the form or not. He can also go to the polling station and cast his vote, Yadav said. Yadav said that the number of services voters in the district is 11, 349. At the same time, services voters working in the district and associated with essential services will be able to cast their vote through ballot paper in the office of the District Election Officer. Similarly, those services voters belonging to Gurugram Lok Sabha whose election duty has been assigned to Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency. They will be issued an Election Duty Certificate by the District Election Officer. Based on which they will be able to cast their vote at their duty booth only. He said that the number of such voters in Gurugram district is around 4,000.
