MANALI: A 27-year-old tourist from Ghaziabad, who had come to Manali with family for vacation, was killed in a paragliding accident at Solang valley on Thursday.The man, identified as Prashant Yadav, chose the high paragliding flight from Fatru hills to Solang. The tandem flight, according to the Paragliding Association, was in control of an experienced pilot with a valid licence to fly. The flight was fine until landing, when both the pilot and the tourist hit the ground at a high speed.“Both sustained injuries after they hit the ground at a high speed. The tourist told us to call his wife while he was still in his senses. Both of them were rushed to hospital in Manali. While the tourist succumbed to his injuries, the critically injured pilot has been referred to a hospital in Mandi. Thousands of tourists have experienced safe tandem paragliding here this season, but it is unfortunate that a young tourist lost his life,” Paragliding Association president Chaman Lal said.
