GDA fails to update projects on Rera website, gets notice

GHAZIABAD: The secretary of the UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) has pulled up the GDA for not updating its projects on the Rera website. “We have been given an ‘edit’ option to update our projects on the website. In a letter to the GDA vice-chairperson, Rera secretary Abrar Ahmed has asked the development authority to update its projects on the website by July 6 or face a fine.The GDA has listed 13 of its projects on the Rera website, including schemes such as Koyal Enclave, Madhuban-Bapudham, Indraprastha and Chandashila. But the GDA has failed to update the projects since May this year. If we fail to update the projects by July 6, a fine of 20% of the total registration fee will be levied,” said a GDA official.The official said the RERA had allowed the GDA an option to edit the status of its projects online.

But the authority has not uploaded any of its projects since May. “The fault lies with us, we have not updated our projects. If we fail to update the projects by July 6, a fine of 20% of the total registration fee will be levied,” said a GDA official.The official said the RERA had allowed the GDA an option to edit the status of its projects online. The authority will not be allowed to edit the status after July 6.“We will ensure we finish off the work well on time. The department responsible for it has been instructed to complete the work as soon as possible” the official added. “We have been given an ‘edit’ option to update our projects on the website. The option will be withdrawn after July 6.”According to RERA rules, all development agencies and private builders are required to update their projects so that they can be accessed easily by the buyers and the status of the projects are in the public domain. But the GDA has failed to update the projects since May this year.
