GHAZIABAD: Within hours of what seemed like a perfect robbery plot, police claimed to have cracked the case with the arrest of five people, including three employees of a private firm who had reported they were robbed of Rs 19 lakh by four armed assailants on Tuesday afternoon.Police said the three employees of a private contractor had made a call to the police control room around 4 pm on Tuesday to report the robbery at gunpoint by four bike-borne assailants in Vasundhara Sector 19. They had also claimed that one of their colleagues also received injuries after an assailant slashed him with a blade.After senior officials,including SSP Vaibhav Krishna, CO (Indirapuram) Ravi Kumar, and SHO (Indirapuram) Sachin Malik reached the spot, the trio told them that four assailants overtook their car near an electricity sub-station in Vasundhara Sector 19 under the Hindon Elevated road and fled with the bag containing the money and a laptop.They said the incident took place when they were on their way back to the office in Shakti Khand 3 after withdrawing Rs 19 lakh from two banks — Punjab National Bank and Axis Bank in Vasundhara Sector 13.SSP Vaibhav Krishna said, “The three employees — Vishal Agnihotri, Amit Katiyar and Wasim Siddiqui — worked in the company of Hitesh Kumar, who takes contracts from the power department and civic bodies.
