Owner of Ghaziabad hooch den arrested

GHAZIABAD: A 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for running illicit liquor manufacturing units in Loni area of Ghaziabad . The factory in SLF Ved Vihar was running out of Kumar’s residence. The cartons contained 48 nip bottles of a country-made liquor.On September 27, police had raided two factories in Hyat colony and SLF Ved Vihar, following a tip-off. He used a number of chemicals and colours to manufacture spurious liquor and various quantities of each were recovered from the factory. He had given the slip to police during the raid but his father Surendra Kumar had been arrested, along with two workers — Jagat Singh and Arvind.

GHAZIABAD: A 32-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for running illicit liquor manufacturing units in Loni area of Ghaziabad . Ravi Kumar was absconding since police busted his units on September 27. An award of Rs 25,000 was announced for his arrest which was later increased to Rs 50,000.Kumar was nabbed transporting seven cartons of illicit liquor in a Haryana registered car from Loni to Delhi. The cartons contained 48 nip bottles of a country-made liquor.On September 27, police had raided two factories in Hyat colony and SLF Ved Vihar, following a tip-off. The factory in SLF Ved Vihar was running out of Kumar’s residence. He had given the slip to police during the raid but his father Surendra Kumar had been arrested, along with two workers — Jagat Singh and Arvind. A huge cache of adulterated liquor and machines were recovered from his factories after which police registered two separate FIRs against Kumar.“The spurious alcohol, produced in his factories, was being refilled into bottles under the brand names of Officer’s Choice and Mr India. Three machines were seized from his factory, including a bottle cap sealer, a machine to extract liquor from drums and another machine to paste the fake labels onto the bottles. He used a number of chemicals and colours to manufacture spurious liquor and various quantities of each were recovered from the factory. A number of empty bottles and caps waiting to be refilled were also recovered,” said Umesh Kumar Singh, SHO of Loni police station, adding that Kumar was presented before a court that sent him to judicial custody.
