GHAZIABAD: The body of a retired Intelligence Bureau (IB) official, who had gone missing on Friday, was found under the elevated road in Vaishali on Sunday. He has been identified as RN Chakraborty (69), a resident of Sector 9, Vaishali.Chakraborty retired as an officer in the rank of deputy superintendent of police in Delhi in 2009 and had been living with his wife and married son in Ghaziabad.His son Niladri, who works with a private firm, had filed a missing person’s complaint at Indirapuram police station on Friday, but the cops failed to trace him for two days. On Sunday, a passerby informed police about a body lying near a bush under the elevated road.Police have ruled out any foul play as of now. They said Chakraborty could have died of heart attack and fell on the roadside. Traces of medicine prescribed for a heart patient were apparently found in his mouth. An autopsy report is awaited. Chakraborty had undergone a bypass surgery in 2006.Niladri said his father had left home on Friday morning to go to a nearby bank. When he did not return home even after several hours, they tried calling him. “His phone was on till 2.30pm, but after that, it became unreachable. We enquired and found that he never reached the bank. Except for his mobile phone, his wallet containing Rs 15,800, identity cards and watch have been found,” he added.
