'CISF constable dies after colliding with an unknown vehicle in Sahibabad'

I hope we find something," said Jitendra Kumar, Senior-Sub Inspector, Sahibabad Police Station.Speaking to TOI, Mahendra Kumar, victim's brother said," I received a call from a police official in the morning who told me about the incident.

GHAZIABAD: In a tragic case of hit-and-run, a CISF constable riding a bike died while being rushed to the hospital after suffering a violent collision with an unidentified vehicle around 4:30 am on Friday morning near Karhera Cut, in Mohan Nagar Sahibabad.The victim, identified as A.S Azad (35) was on his way to Delhi from his quarter in Kamla Nehru Nagar to join his duty at Rajghat when he suffered the collision. The victim was in his uniform and was driving a black Hero Honda Passion Pro bike. The victim was originally the resident of Aurangabad in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.No details about the colliding vehicle or the driver have been ascertained by the police so far, however, the investigation is on. The police officials have also denied the identification of any witnesses to the incident pertaining to the wee hours of the day.The victim was attended by a passerby, who called the police, who reached the spot and the victim was rushed to Narendra Mohan Hospital , located just a few meters away from the accident spot but he was pronounced brought dead by the hospital authorities. "He had fallen on the left side of his body and was bleeding a lot. It was a head injury. We rushed him to the hospital in the PCR as soon as we could but he died on the way," said a police official from Sahibabad Police Station.When questioned, the police said that it could have been a rashly driven car or a truck, but all of this is just a matter of speculation right now and nothing can be confirmed at the moment. I had met him last evening. I am still in shock. He had two small children."CCTV cameras installed around the stretch, outside of shops etc where the accident happened are also being examined by the police.Meanwhile, an F.I.R under Sections 304 a (Causing death by negligence) and 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) of the IPC have been registered against an unknown person at Sahibabad Police Station and the body had been sent for post-mortem.The deceased is survived by two boys aged 6 and 2.5 years along with his wife Pushpa, who is also employed as a constable at Ghaziabad Railway Station under RPF.
