Man flees with rented SUV, booked two months later

GURUGRAM: A Bhiwani resident was booked on Wednesday for allegedly renting an SUV from a private firm almost two months ago and disappearing after that.The accused has been identified as Sandeep, a resident of Gujrani village in Bhiwani. But when our officials tried to contact him on the mobile number he had given us, it was found to be switched off. He will be arrested soon,” said inspector Sudip Kumar, SHO of Sushant Lok police station. We have put his mobile number under surveillance and are trying to trace him. According to the agreement made, the XUV was to returned on February 2.

On January 29, Sandeep allegedly rented a Mahindra XUV from PrimeMover Mobility Technologies Private Limited, which provides cars on rent on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis.In a police complaint filed on Wednesday, Gaurav Sharma, operation head (north) of the firm, told cops that a company driver handed over the SUV to the accused at 10pm on January 29 near Fortis hospital, Sector 44.“At that time, Sandeep had submitted copies of his driving licence and Aadhaar card. According to the agreement made, the XUV was to returned on February 2. But when our officials tried to contact him on the mobile number he had given us, it was found to be switched off. When we tried to trace the location of the car via its GPS system, it was also found to be blocked,” the complainant said.On the basis of the complaint, an FIR has been registered against Sandeep under Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of IPC at Sushant Lok police station.“The accused had given copies of his driving licence and Aadhaar card, but whether the details provided are genuine is being investigated. We have put his mobile number under surveillance and are trying to trace him. He will be arrested soon,” said inspector Sudip Kumar, SHO of Sushant Lok police station.
