GURUGRAM: An autorickshaw driver had a close shave on Wednesday morning when a 35-year-old woman allegedly shot at him but the bullet whizzed past his left ear near Bhawani Encalve on Basai Road The woman had attacked the driver following an argument between the two apparently over the right of way. An onlooker shot the incident and uploaded a video on the net that was shared on various social media sites throughout the day.Later, based on driver Sunil Katari’s complaint, police picked up Sapna and her husband Yunis, who will be produced in court on Thursday.Preliminary investigation suggests Katari, a resident of the same society, was standing on the road with his vehicle around 9am when the woman came on her scooty and allegedly picked up a fight with him over the right of way.After having some argument with Katari, she left the spot but returned soon with her husband and another youth. The auto driver was still there, talking to his friend on phone.The woman allegedly started thrashing the driver. She then pulled out a country-made pistol and fired a shot at him. Though the bullet missed the target, the woman started loading another bullet. But the youth, who was accompanying her, snatched pistol and fled the scene.“I was outside my home, talking on phone when she came on a scooty. She started screaming at me for talking on phone while standing on the road. She then left and came back with her husband and another man. Suddenly, she pulled out a gun from her pocket and fired at me. I stood scared and shocked,” Katari claimed.Later, police were informed and a team reached there and recovered the bullet shell from the spot. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the couple and their accomplice under sections 307 (murder attempt), 323 (causing hurt), 337(causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC at Sector 9A police station.“We have arrested the couple, Sapna and Yunis, and are questioning them. We have also recovered the country-made pistol that was used in the crime from their possession. Further investigation is on,” said inspector Sudhir Kumar, SHO of Sector 9A police station.
