HISAR: Hisar police have booked three unknown persons for allegedly using casteist language agains the Jat community and manhandling office-bearers of the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (A ijass).The incident took place on Saturday, when A ijass members had gathered at Badapatti village of the district to show black flags to finance minister Captain Abhimanyu.The case has been registered at Barwala police station, on a complaint by A ijass state president Mahendra Singh Poonia and spokesperson Rambhagat Malik, under sections 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code The A ijass members have alleged that the three men just walked up to them and started abusing them. They then proceeded to manhandling them. At the time of the protest, the Aijass members were taken into police custody and released at night.Following this, the office-bearers of A ijass submitted a written complaint and started a protest outside Barwala police station to demand the registration of a case.ASI Suresh Kumar, who is investigating the matter, said they were yet to identify the accused.Poonia said if the police would not investigate into the case properly, they would start a protest against the police.A ijass has decided to boycott all rural programmes of the CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Captain Abhimanyu to build pressure for their demand to seek reservation for the community in government jobs and educational institutes.
