GURUGRAM: A sub-inspector has been booked after a woman (35) alleged that the cop molested and thrashed her, and manhandled her son in Patel Nagar area on Monday night. The woman claimed that the sub inspector , who was drunk, also tore off her clothes and threatened to kill her and her son.Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against Shiv Kumar, who is reportedly a sub-inspector posted in Faridabad, under 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354-B (molestation) of the IPC at women’s police station (west) in Sector 15.“We are investigating the matter. According to the woman, the man is a cop but we are yet to ascertain his identity and whether the accused is at all a policeman. We are verifying the facts and action will be taken as per law,” said inspector Kailash Devi, SHO, women’s police station (west).According to the woman, she was going to a tailor’s shop in Patel Nagar around 8.30am on Monday when the man came and started misbehaving with her.She claimed he also molested her and abused her. She raised an alarm and when her son came to the spot, the man thrashed the woman as well as her son, before escaping. “I was busy in my work when he reached there and caught my hand. As I resisted, he thrashed me and tore off my clothes. He also manhandled my son. He is a policeman,” she wrote in her complaint.
