HISAR: After he became a pilot, Vikas Jyani , resident of Sarangpur village, Adampur , arranged for air travel for all the 22 residents aged 70 and above in his village. The elders traveled from New Delhi to Amritsar and to Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border.Passengers included 90-year-old Bimla, 78-year-old Ramamuti, 78-year-old Kankari Devi, 75-year-old Giradawari Devi, 80-year-old Amar Singh, 75-year-old Surjaram, 75-year-old Khemaram, 72-year-old Atmaram, Indra, Jagdish and Satpal. After their first plane trip, they said they had never imagined they would ever fly.They said Vikas was always confident that he would become a pilot one day. His father Mahendra said his son’s gesture was no less than a pilgrimage.90-year-old Bimla, who sat in a plane for the first time, said that she had never even dreamt of such a thing. “Many people make promises to elderly but kept his word,” she added.78-year-old Ramamuti and 78-year-old Kankari Devi, who were flying for the first time, said that this air traveling movement was the best movement of their life. They were also thankful of their co-passengers who helped them whenever needed.The pilot’s father Mahendra Jayani, senior manager at a bank said that Vikas always respect elders and this was his dream. “He fulfilled his dream and that’s the most important thing for me. All youth should follow Vikas’ example and we should all respect our elders,” he added.
