AMBALA: It’s girls all the way in the students’ council polls in 15 colleges of Ambala district . The number of girls in most of the colleges is higher than the boys.Elections to the students’ bodies in Haryana were held after a gap of 22 years. Barring two colleges, girls bagged the president's post in 13 colleges Boys managed to win top posts only in SA Jain College and Maharana Pratap College in Mullana.The 75% attendance criteria gave the girls a head start as more of them could meet the eligibility conditions for contesting the polls. There were no candidates for post of class representatives, so the college authorities made the selection on the basis of merit, where the girls were ahead.Setting their agenda, the winners promised to work towards improving the education standard and boosting facilities in colleges.In the top four posts, one post was reserved for the female candidate, and there are five Girls College in Ambala.
