Miri-Piri Niwas inaugurated in Gurudwara Manji Sahib

AMBALA: Senior vice president Raghujit Singh Virk of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) inaugurated the Miri-Piri Niwas at Gurudwara Manji Sahib and the keys of the sarai were handed over to the SGPC by the Kar Sewak Baba Bachan Singh from Delhi and Baba Mahinder Singh from Pehowa. Earlier a foundation stone of the Community Kitchen Hall was also placed by Virk. The foundation of this newly built sarai was kept on June 30, 2013, by the then president of SGPC Avtar Singh Makkar and the work is completed after 5.5 years.Raghujit Singh informed that SGPC is planning a grand celebration of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak and accordingly all the pending projects are being completed before the anniversary.Raghujit added a printing press is also being established in Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan in village Shahpur in the district, where the literature related to SGPC educational institutions , important official documents, and other religious literatures will be printed.While disclosing another important development, Raghujit added that Angitha Sahib is also being established in Shahpur so that the cremation of the old birs of Guru Granth Sahib can also take place in Haryana in a traditional and respectable manner.At presently the old birs are being taken to Khadur Sahib in Goindwal, Amritsar for cremation and some other parts of Punjab.
