Wasalpur firing: Forest department unaware of incident

As of now, I do not have any information of any such hunting incident in the area but I will look into the matter. AMBALA: Following up the cases of hunting incidents in the district, there have been four such cases where in residents have accidentally been shot by the hunters. There are separate sections of law under which accused can be booked for hunting any animal in forest area and the crime is a non-bailable offence. "As per the sources, in the last two years, there have been four such cases when the residents have accidentally received bullet injuries by hunters.Nearly two years ago one labourer while working in sugarcane fields in Lakhnaura village , received bullet injuries after being shot by the hunters while they were waiting for prey. Both the women were referred to PGI, Chandigarh and a case was registered by the police.There are many such incidents where wild animals are being hunted in the district by the illegal hunters as the forest official has clearly stated that hunting is not allowed in the area and no one can hire any such hunters to even protect their crops.

In the recent case of Wasalpur village, the hunters had installed a cot on three trees after constructing a frame of wooden logs to hunt a wild boar, but they accidentally killed Isran Ali, a resident of the village.While talking to the TOI, district forest officer Hairatjeet Kaur said, "Hunting is nowhere allowed in Haryana, it is an offence if anybody attempts to do so and action will be taken against those found guilty. There are separate sections of law under which accused can be booked for hunting any animal in forest area and the crime is a non-bailable offence. The injured was referred to PGI, Chandigarh for treatment.In another such incident, one youth was shot by hunters and received bullet injuries in Fatehpur village and regarding the incident a case was registered by the police.In October, two women (aged 40 and 60) while on the way to take green fodder for the livestock had received bullet injuries when the hunters had accidentally dropped a gun from their motorcycle, which accidentally fired shots leaving the women injured at Barouli village. Both the women were referred to PGI, Chandigarh and a case was registered by the police.There are many such incidents where wild animals are being hunted in the district by the illegal hunters as the forest official has clearly stated that hunting is not allowed in the area and no one can hire any such hunters to even protect their crops.
