Dushyant Chautala: Need strong step, scrap Article 370

YAMUNANAGAR: Hisar MP and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday demanded the scrapping of Article 370 of the Constitution, which gives Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) a special status and restricts Parliament’s power to make laws related to the northern-most state of India.Speaking at a gathering at a village in Yamunanagar , Dushyant said called for a “strong step” in the wake of the terror attack in Pulwama. “Everyone in the country is extending support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the terror attack. The PM should call a two-day special session in Parliament to scrap Article 370 , which has been implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Our soldiers’ efforts should not go in vain,” he said.To woo voters, the MP promised 75% quota for the state’s youth in private jobs. “If we are voted to power in Haryana, 75% quota would be given to Haryanvi youths in private jobs,” he said.Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chhachhrauli MLA Arjan Singh, who has also served in the Congress, joined the JJP on Tuesday, in the presence of president Dushyant Chautala. Arjan was elected an MLA in 2005. He had switched to the Congress later on. Meanwhile, JJP leader Digvijay Chautala held a meeting with party workers in Sukhrali, Gurgaon. Slamming the BJP government over its ignorance towards poor state of health services and of government schools in the city, he said JJP will invest the revenue earned from Gurgaon for its development.
