CEOs channel inner Elvis and Kishore at this musical fundraiser in Gurgaon

Organised by the Genesis Foundation, the 22nd edition of the CEOs Sing for Kids musical evening was held at a five-star hotel in the city on Sunday. But it was a musical evening unlike any other in the Millennium City for the performers were not professional singers but high-ranking executives of some of the biggest corporate in Delhi-NCR. “It’s wonderful because it’s a great cause and music is a great way to bind people, so it’s a double dhamaka,” he said after his performance. Ogilvy CCO Sonal Dabral’s imitations of actors Rajesh Khanna and Manoj Kumar were one of the highlights of a fun evening. It began with a bit of the 'Beatles', went on to get the crowd grooving with an Elvis number, then moved on to Kishore Kumar and Mohammad Rafi hits before concluding with some modern Bollywood chartbusters.

There were old favourites in the line up, faces and voices that have been regulars at the event for years now, like Vodafone India senior executive P Balaji, who took to the stage with his daughter Nikita and performed songs composed by SD and RD Burman. “It’s wonderful because it’s a great cause and music is a great way to bind people, so it’s a double dhamaka,” he said after his performance. There were some newer voices too, such as former Additional Solicitor General of India Bishwajit Bhattacharyya, who said, “There cannot be a nobler venture than this – to save a little heart.” As the performers took those audience on a musical journey that crossed continents and decades, everyone found something to their liking. Ogilvy CCO Sonal Dabral’s imitations of actors Rajesh Khanna and Manoj Kumar were one of the highlights of a fun evening. Naveen Gurnaney, CEO, Tata Starbucks, said, “It’s wonderful to see the number of people who have come together for this cause and I feel proud to be a part of this.
