Cop booked for wrongful confinement

Hisar: Hisar police have booked a police assistant sub inspector for disobeying direction under law and wrongful confinement of a scheduled caste widow. According to her, he also threatened to file a case against her and put her in jail. The victim said that on November 23, 2018, when she was alone, Bijender and Rajender, who belong to the same village, came to her house and abused her caste and tore her clothes off.She had complained against the two to the police, but on November 29, the ASI called her to the police station and kept her in illegal custody from 10am to 6pm. The investigation has been handed over to deputy superintendent of police Amarjeet Singh, but no one has been arrested till now.A police spokesperson, Harish Bhardwaj, said that on court’s direction, a case has been registered against the ASI Suresh Kumar and two men, Bijender and Rajender, under sections 166 A (public servant disobeying direction under law), 354-B (assault to woman with intent to disrobe), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 452 (house trespass) of Indian Penal Code and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.In the complaint given to the police, the victim said that her husband had died some time ago and that she is a livestock farmer.
