Officials said the western disturbance was approaching, adding that easterly and south easterly wind systems have resumed movement into the plains, causing warmer conditions. “The wind brings warm air from states such as Rajasthan,” an official said, adding, “Meanwhile, the cloud cover traps the solar radiations entering the atmosphere during the day and these radiations raise minimum temperatures during the night while the maximum tends to remain unchanged.”“This week, we are expecting thunderstorms, windstorms and isolated hailstorms in the city,” said an official, adding that Gurugram would witness light rain and wind of up to 20-30 kmph from Monday. On the other hand, the air quality index improved from 140 in the ‘moderate’ category on Friday to 107 on Saturday due to brisk wind. AQI is likely to improve further due to rain this week.
