It also made clear that the school cannot avoid filing Form VI, on the pretext that it is yet to be recognised. Gurgaon: The DPSG fee hike row has now snowballed into a bigger confrontation after the school refused to rescind its controversial step despite an order issued by Gurgaon divisional commissioner D Suresh, who is also the chairman of the district fee and fund regulatory committee. The order, issued on June 5, termed the fee hike "unjustified" and barred the school from hiking its fee. It also made clear that the school cannot avoid filing Form VI, on the pretext that it is yet to be recognised. While Suresh's order stands unless the school gets a stay from court, the school management has made it clear they are not rolling back the fee hike.According to DPSG officials, the school has legitimate reasons for hiking fees. On Thursday, the management furnished papers before TOI along with supporting documents to show that they had obtained proper permission from the education department. As per the documents, DPSG Society was given permission to take admissions till Class III and run Classes till VIII. The supporting documents also sought permission to raise the fee up to Rs 88,000. "We got the permission after submitting Form I (application to establish a new school)," said Anshul Pathak, vice-chairman, DPSG Society. The DPSG Society also cited the Seventh Pay Commission as a reason for their fee hike. The management said the government should not treat them as a continuation of Chiranjeev Bharti School (its earlier avatar), but a brand new school altogether. It reiterated that the school is yet to receive recognition, so it wasn't supposed to submit Form VI in the first place, as the Haryana education department dictates only recognised schools are needed to submit Form VI.But FFRC chairman Suresh has clearly pointed out that as per Haryana Education Act 1995 and Haryana Education Rules 2003, DPSG's claim, that since school is yet to be recognised, it's not liable to submit Form VI, is not valid. "The school has been allowed to grant admissions up to Class III, but is continuing with the old students from Chiranjeev Bharti School. In such a situation, how can the school avoid filling Form VI, on the pretext that it has nothing to do with Chiranjeev Bharti School," said SureshParents, meanwhile, were pinning all their hopes on Suresh's order. "On account of his magisterial powers, the order will stand unless court quashes it," said one of the parents. Suresh also told TOI he had issued his orders only after careful deliberations. "My order stands and if school doesn't oblige, I will recommend that they don't get recognition at all," he said.
