Army officer held for molestation, gets bail

"The accused had already consumed a fair amount of alcohol before he arrived with his brother at my friend's place. "We arrested the accused on Sunday and on Monday, he was granted bail by the city court. We are investigating the matter," said inspector Sudip Kumar, station house officer, DLF-2 police station.Despite several attempts by TOI, the accused could not be contacted. The woman is working with a private financial services company and lives in a payng gust accommodation in DLF-2. The woman has claimed that both accused and his brother were in inebriated state.

GURUGRAM: An Army major was arrested for allegedly molesting a 24-year-old woman on Sunday in DLF-2 when she was at her friend's place.On Monday, he was produced in a city court and was granted bail The accused arrived at the woman's friend's place for a party. According to the complaint filed by the woman at DLF-2 police station, she was sleeping at her friend's place in Belvedere Tower in DLF-2 in the early hours of Sunday when the accused allegedly molested her."The accused had already consumed a fair amount of alcohol before he arrived with his brother at my friend's place. I went to sleep around 1.00 am, but woke up when I felt somebody was touching me from behind. The moment I got up the person darted out of the room. When I came out, I only saw the accused and his brother sitting in the drawing room. I told my friend about the incident and approached police," said the woman in her complaint.An FIR was registered against 35-year-old Army officer under section 354-A (sexual harassment) of IPC, and was arrested later in the evening on Sunday.According to the police, the accused is working in artillery corps of Indian Army and was visiting his brother in DLF-5 over the weekend. The woman is working with a private financial services company and lives in a payng gust accommodation in DLF-2."We arrested the accused on Sunday and on Monday, he was granted bail by the city court.
