12 women, 4 men held from guesthouse for running a sex racket

GURUGRAM: A sex racket operating out of a guesthouse in Sector 39 was busted late on Sunday night and 12 women, including an Afghani citizen , and four men, including the guesthouse manager, were arrested. After receiving a signal from him, we raided the guesthouse and arrested 12 women and four men, including the guesthouse manager, and the signed notes were recovered," said Kumar. "We sent a decoy customer to the guesthouse as we got many complaints saying a sex racket was operating in the guesthouse. "This guesthouse is reportedly owned by one of Munshi Ram, according to the manager's claims before us. All accused were produced in a city court on Monday and sent to judicial custody," said Kumar.

An FIR under sections of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, has been registered against the accused who were produced in a city court and sent to judicial custody.Police said based on a tip-off, a team headed by inspector Vijay Kumar, SHO of Sadar police station, conducted a raid at Ganga Villa around 8.00pm. The guesthouse is located at plot no. 749 and is reportedly owned by one Munshi Ram. Police are conducting raids to nab him."We sent a decoy customer to the guesthouse as we got many complaints saying a sex racket was operating in the guesthouse. The decoy customer met manager Kaptan Singh at reception and finalised a deal with one of the women staffers by giving her Rs 2,000 in signed notes. After receiving a signal from him, we raided the guesthouse and arrested 12 women and four men, including the guesthouse manager, and the signed notes were recovered," said Kumar. "Most of the women are aged between 20 and 25 years and are residents of UP, Bihar and Delhi-NCR but one of them is a native of Afghanistan but she produced an Aadhaar card and we are verifying the facts about her," he added.An FIR under sections 3 (keeping a brothel or allowing premises to be used as a brothel), 4 (living on the earnings of prostitution), 5 (procuring, inducing or taking a person for the sake of prostitution), 7 (prostitution in or in the vicinity of public places) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act was registered at Sadar police station."This guesthouse is reportedly owned by one of Munshi Ram, according to the manager's claims before us. We are conducting raids to nab the owner. All accused were produced in a city court on Monday and sent to judicial custody," said Kumar."We are investigating the role of the guesthouse owner. A probe is on," said Inderjeet, ACP (Sadar), Gurgaon.
