Dalit forums take out a massive rally in Hubballi

The burning of the Constitution copy clearly shows that followers of Ma nusmriti still exist in the country. The protesters urged Hubballi tahsildar to come to the place of protest at KC Circle to receive their memorandum. ACP H K Pathan, who received a complaint, promised that he would look into the matter. "Intellectuals, media, social activists and others should raise their voice against the anti-national act and bring pressure on the governments in Delhi," he appealed. Ravindra Balappa Kalyani, a resident of Shiradi Nagar filed the complaint.

HUBBALLI: The Constitution is a sacred document for all and it is unfortunate that its copies were burnt by a few followers of Manusmriti, rued Tontadarya Siddalinga Mahaswamiji, of Gadag.Addressing a massive rally organised by Vividha Dalita Sangha Sansthegala Mahamandala here on Tuesday, to protest against the burning of the copy of a Constitution recently in Delhi by members of different organisations, the seer said it was very unfortunate that governments in power have failed to arrest miscreants involved in the act."Intellectuals, media, social activists and others should raise their voice against the anti-national act and bring pressure on the governments in Delhi," he appealed. It is because of the Constitution written by Dr B R Ambedkar that many people got power and minorities including Sikhs have occupied high offices," the seer said.Mohammed Yaseen Chisti of Vijaypura urged the Centre to initiate stern action and arrest the culprits who burnt the copy of the Constitution. The protesters urged Hubballi tahsildar to come to the place of protest at KC Circle to receive their memorandum. Tahsildar Shashidhar Madyal went there and received the memorandum addressed to President Kovind.Based on visuals on WhatsApp and media information, a complaint has been registered against members of Arakshan Virodhi Party and Youth Equality Foundation (Azad Sena) who were involved in burning the copy of the Constitution. Ravindra Balappa Kalyani, a resident of Shiradi Nagar filed the complaint. ACP H K Pathan, who received a complaint, promised that he would look into the matter.
