Belagavi: Sweets will be the specialty of this year’s Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations in the city. Rajyotsava in Belagavi is always special and grand compared to other parts of the state, with thousands of Kannada lovers from all age groups dancing to Kannada tunes in a grand procession This year, the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has decided to distribute 10,000 laddus among Kannada activists Besides, the Belagavi branch of Hukkeri mutt has stated that it will distribute sweet chapatis to the Kannada activists. This apart, all hotels and restaurants in the city have announced a 25% rebate on all food items on November 1.More than 80 tableaux including 18 from different government departments depicting different themes will take part in the Rajyotsava procession. The police have made all the necessary security arrangements.Considering the excitement among Kannada workers, the district administration will arrange a helicopter to shower flowers on the procession. A podium will be built at Channamma Circle for women, children and physically handicapped to watch the procession.All movie theatres have been instructed to screen Kannada movies mandatorily on Thursday. Lighting arrangements are being made at Channamma Circle.Felicitation to Kannada activistsThe district administration will felicitate Kannada activists senior Kannada journalists and newspaper editors who have worked towards Kannada’s development on Thursday.
