Hubballi: Keshwapur police averted a possible robbery bid and arrested one man when a gang was about to rob commuters on National Highway 67 (Old NH 63) during the early hours of Monday.After a spate of highway robberies, police had formed a special team to arrest the accused. However, police managed to arrest one of them.The arrested is Sameer Mohammad Ishaq Tahsildar of Yallapur Oni. A motorcycle and some lethal weapons have been seized from him. Police are on the look out for Tahsildar’s accomplices. Earlier, police had arrested a duo who was targeting truck drivers on the highway.A police team led by inspector Prabhu Surin was patrolling the highway on Sunday night when they saw a suspicious gang of five near DDM Church.The miscreants were wearing masks and were holding chilli powder packets and iron rods in their hands.The gang fled when they saw the police.
