This cop helps hundreds of youths get govt jobs

He has been imparting free training to aspirants of government jobs since 2013. Hubballi: If he had not taken the initiative to impart free training to youths, hundreds of them probably wouldn't have got jobs in various departments of the state government. The youths respect him as their messiah, guru and brother, and even dedicated a song to him. Hussainappa Nayaka, a police constable at Sindhanur police station, is fondly called as 'one man army' by his admirers.Nayaka hails from Manvi of Sindhanur taluk in Raichur district. In a few days, he will be appointed as PSI in the state police. While working as constable, he passed the PSI exam and secured first rank in Hyderabad Karnataka region in the PSI recruitment exam.In the words of his students, his extraordinary achievement however is imparting knowledge to hundreds of youths free of cost. Shivaraj G K, reserve PSI of 2014 batch, who was trained by Nayaka and currently working in Kalaburagi, told TOI: "He is a one man army and an embodiment of knowledge. He has been imparting free training to aspirants of government jobs since 2013. He started giving training to three students initially and now his class has more than 300 students. Hundreds of his students landed government jobs."Son of Basamma, a vegetable vendor, Nayaka said that there are hundreds of poor students who are extremely talented. "But, what they lack is proper guidance. Whenever I went on duty, youths would often ask me for tips to pass exams. When their number increased, I decided to start a formal training to them. With the help of my seniors and Guru Academy that provided space for training, I have been able to train the youths. The aspirants are from Raichur, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi, Bidar and other parts of the state," said 32-year-old Nayaka.Nayaka spent more than Rs 2.80 lakh to get himself trained in Bengaluru and Dharwad. He joined as constable in 2008 and was posted to Sindhanur station in 2009. "I have been working in night shift for the past three years and imparting training during the day. While morning classes are held from 7am to 10am, evening classes are held from 5pm to 8pm. My duty hour s are from 10pm to 6am," he said. So far 106 of his students have been appointed as constables, three as civil PSIs, one as RSI, eight as FDAs and 15 as SDAs. About 70 have attended PSI recruitment interview and are waiting for results, he said.Nayaka is spending Rs 5,000 from his pocket to train the students every month. V Shwetha, an MSc student, who is getting training since the past eight months, said, "I have written PSI civil and wireless exams and waiting for results. To get a similar training one has to spend Rs 50,000. But, Nayaka Sir is giving us free training. Apart from syllabus and current affairs, he also imparts physical training to his students."Syed Habeeb, another student from Sindhanur, said that the secret of success of youths trained under Nayaka is the quality of training. "Nobody can match his skills. Most of the times, the training centres only have a target of money making. But, Nayaka wants to help as many youths as possible to reach their goal in life."
