Hyderabad airport bags Award’

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), which operates Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, at Hyderabad, has won the prestigious ‘Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility’ for 2017 in the transportation sector under the ‘Aviation’ category. Venkatachaliah handed over the award at the 39th Golden Peacock Awards presentation ceremony during the Institute of Directors, India & 12th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility’ held recently in Bengaluru. Through GMR Group’s CSR wing GMR Varalakshmi Foundation we have been actively working in the villages around Hyderabad Airport for the last 12 years and took up initiatives in education, health, hygiene & sanitation, empowerment & livelihoods with focus on skill development and sustainable community development,” said GHIAL CEO S.G.K. Golden Peacock Awards, constituted by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India, is regarded as a benchmark of corporate excellence worldwide. The award applications were assessed at three levels by independent assessors and finally by a grand jury headed by former Supreme Court judge Arijit Pasayat, a press release said.
