Bharat Bachav rally stalled by police

Traffic came to standstill at Malkapur on the Mumbai National Highway for some time on Friday when Bharat Bachav Yatra promoting universal implementation of small family norm entered the district. Speaking to media, both Mr. Raja Singh and Mr. Suresh alleged that the yatra was stopped at the behest of MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. The organisers were seeking strict implementation of the norm and demanded that voting rights be cancelled for those who violated it. Police stopped the organisers and shifted them to Indrakaran Police Station limits in Kandi mandal on the grounds that they did not have permission. The organisers gave the police a copy of the court order giving them permission for the conduct of the yatra.

The yatra, taken up by chairman and managing director of Sudarshan News Suresh Chavhanke and his wife Maya along with a group of supporters, advocating universal implementation of small family norm entered the district after covering Maharashtra and Karnataka. The organisers were seeking strict implementation of the norm and demanded that voting rights be cancelled for those who violated it. Large number of BJP and Bajrang Dal activists landed up at spot and took up the issue with police, who had shifted the rally to Indrakaran police station limits and held them there for over three hours. Superintendent of Police S. Chandrasekhar Reddy and other senior officials rushed to the spot. The organisers gave the police a copy of the court order giving them permission for the conduct of the yatra. BJP MLA Raja Singh reached Kandi and held discussions with the police and ensured that the yatra was allowed to travel to Hyderabad late in the evening. Speaking to media, both Mr. Raja Singh and Mr. Suresh alleged that the yatra was stopped at the behest of MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
