In a statement here, he said people were watching how the BJP was throwing all norms, morals and ethics to the wind and destroying democracy. The genuine claim of the Congress and JD(S) combine should be honoured, he said and reminded how the BJP had grabbed power in coalition with Janata Dal in Bihar despite the Rashtriya Janata Dal being the single largest party, a statement said. At a press conference, MLA Revanth Reddy asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to spell out his stand on the JD(S)-Congress combine since he appealed to people to support the Deve Gowda-led JD(S). “There is no word from Mr. KCR on what his stand is. It only shows he was raking up the third or federal front to benefit the BJP,” he said. Accusing the BJP of murdering democracy, he cited various incidents where the parties with post-poll alliance with requisite numbers were invited to form the government during the last four-year rule of the BJP-led NDA government. “Why are they averse to the similar tie-up of Congress and JD(S) now.” Mr. Reddy said the BJP led by stalwarts like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani followed ethics in politics and Mr. Vajpayee even sacrificed his government for want of one vote. But the present BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah was just power-hungry and would go to any extent to form governments destroying democracy.
