HYDERABAD: Two Hyderabad students Rohan Purohit and Varun Muppidi set the NEET scoresheet sizzling on Monday with Rohan securing all-India second rank and Varun Muppidi standing sixth.Speaking to TOI, a jubilant Rohan said, "I was sure of a good rank in NEET, but never imagined I would be all-India second."According to CBSE data, seven students from Telangana secured a spot in top 25. In top 50, 9 students managed to find a spot and in top 100 ranks, Telugu students managed to secure 17 ranks.O Venkata Sai Harsha Vardhan Reddy (AIR 14), Menda Jaideep (AIR 16), K Sri Harsha (AIR 19), Siddhath Ravi (AIR 25), V Ravikiran (AIR 36), Lokesh PM (AIR 37), G Sreevathsav (AIR 57), SJB Rafiya Kulsum (AIR 63), A Sahith Reddy (AIR 68), Nitya B (AIR 71), YS Kumar Reddy (AIR 73), BVN Tarun Varma (AIR 81), RR CH Abhishek (AIR 92), M Sriyudh Reddy (AIR 94) managed to find a spot from Telugu states in top 100 list.Parents of Muppidi Varun who got rank sixth in NEET Medical"Just like what happened in Joint Entrance Examination (Mains), our students created history in NEET. Our student secured South India first rank and we are the only institute to secure 17 ranks among top 100 in open category," said Sushma Boppana, academic director, Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions.The institute also announced 25 lakh scholarship for Purohit, who secured AIR second rank and first rank from South India, and 10 lakh scholarships for the 6th and 8th rankers. In reserved categories too, students from Telangana and AP proved their mettle by securing as many as 89 ranks in top 100."Narayana students have managed to secure 48 ranks in top 100 in all categories. So, there is no point opting for it. My first priority would be AIIMS, Delhi, if not I would prefer JIPMER, Pondicherry. If I fail to secure a seat in the either of the examinations, I would think of appearing for NEET counselling," said Muppidi.The Director General of Health Sciences, Government of India will conduct counselling for 15% all-India quota seats.
