The teachers’ unions have decided to constitute a five-member internal committee to inquire into the misuse of preferential category by the teachers with false medical certificates to secure postings of their choice during the transfers and counselling programme in Karimnagar district. Several teachers unions like TRTF, STU, GHMA, GTA have conducted an emergency meeting in Karimnagar town on Monday. to continue the old manual system for the transfers and counselling of teachers instead of the proposed web counselling, which was confusing the teaching community as the government had failed to conduct demonstration of web counselling methods to create awareness among the teachers. They warned the teachers, who misled the government with false medical certificates, of stern departmental action.

They passed a resolution to collect information under the Right to Information Act of the application forms submitted by the teachers under preferential category and demand the government to take criminal cases against the teachers and the doctors for issuing fake medical certificates. TRTF leader M. Prathap Reddy, STU leader K. Ramesh, PRTU leader J. Mahender Reddty, GHMA leader Ch. Pradhyunma Kumar and others participated in the meeting. They warned the teachers, who misled the government with false medical certificates, of stern departmental action. They also urged the State govt. to continue the old manual system for the transfers and counselling of teachers instead of the proposed web counselling, which was confusing the teaching community as the government had failed to conduct demonstration of web counselling methods to create awareness among the teachers.
