AP: Police stop Kathi Mahesh press meet

AMARAVATI: Film critic Kathi Mahesh was stopped by Andhra Pradesh police from organising a press meet in Piler of Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district. So, police had barred him from Hyderabad for six months and escorted him to Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and dropped him at his native place. From there also, Mahesh is posting his comments on social media.On Monday, after Mahesh had declared that he was going to address a press meet at Chittoor, he was driven away from Andhra Pradesh towards Bengaluru. Kathie Mahesh - known for controversial comments on all subjects - was preparing to organise a press meet, but the police, sensing trouble, stopped him.The police had booked him for allegedly disrespecting Hindu deities. The police might leave him there again.

The actor had created a controversy early this month when he made some derogatory statements against Lord Rama and Sita during a debate on a local Telugu news channel.Members of Hindu organisationss lodged complaints against him at the Banjara Hills police station. So, police had barred him from Hyderabad for six months and escorted him to Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and dropped him at his native place.
