Andhra Pradesh: ACB raids PCB engineer

VIJAYAWADA: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted raids on the residences of Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board environmental engineer Emani Satyanarayana at Maruti Cooperative Housing Society Colony, Gurunanak Nagar, Vijayawada. “We also found Rs 41 lakh as bank balance in Satyanarayana’s son E Pavan Kumar’s ICICI Bank account in Hyderabad," he said. Satyanarayana was produced in the court, said Thakur. Simultaneous raids were conducted on those belonging to his family members and close associates in Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Hyderabad.The officials also recovered property documents in Nellore, Kakinada, Vizag, Rajamahendravaram, Yadadri and Ranga Reddy districts in Telangana during their raids. The officials unearthed huge sums of money, gold jewellery and documents.According to DG of ACB, R P Thakur, Satyanarayana had earlier worked in Kakinada, Rajamahendravaram, Nellore, Vizag and Hyderabad since he joined service as a junior engineer in AP Pollution Control Board in 1989.A cash of Rs 8.50 lakh was found at his residence in Vijayawada, cash amounting to Rs 22 lakh was found in bank lockers, and fixed deposits worth Rs 52 lakh, bank balance Rs 53 lakh, household articles worth Rs 8.30 lakh, 1 kg jewellery 1 kg, silver articles weighing 6 kg, a four-wheeler, Maruti Wagnor and 2 two-wheelers were also found .
