GUNTUR: Stating that Chandrababu Naidu’s double standards were thoroughly exposed with TDP backing Congress nominee in Rajya Sabha deputy chairman election, YSRCP senior leader and former MP YV Subbareddy has observed that Naidu has looked in a hurry to forge an alliance with the Congress party. He said that Naidu had once again proved that he alone had the patent on taking U-turn.Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Subbareddy defended the party’s move to abstain from the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman election after Congress deciding to field its candidate from the opposition. "We have decided to oppose the NDA candidate keeping as BJP rendered gross injustice to AP by not granting Special Category Status (SCS) to AP. We wanted to support the opposition candidate had he been from some regional party like TMC, NCP as proposed in the beginning of the talks. Once Congress wanted to field its nominee, we have decided not to support him as Congress is the first accused in doing injustice to AP,” said Subbareddy.He wanted to know as to why TDP backed Congress candidate in spite of saying that both BJP and Congress have not done justice to AP. He said that TDP’s stance exposed its eagerness to hob-nob with Congress. He said that Naidu should openly explain his stand on going with Congress. He said that NTR founded the party with a sole purpose to oppose the Congress and Naidu’s decision to go with Congress is another big back-stabbing of NTR’s ideology.Subbreddy said that they have been relentlessly fighting for SCS for the last three years and sacrificed their loksabha membership almost 14 months ahead of the elections. He dared one of the TDP MPs or ministers to quit their posts even for a single day. He said that Jagan is the champion of SCS and he made Naidu to take U-turn to support the SCS.
