It is so Hyderabadi that apart from mentioning laddoolu and pulihora the songs also playfully boasts of road blocks in colonies, donation collection (chanda) and how the festival unites all when it comes to the dance and music. To make the song relatable and simple and still make a beautiful easy video, the singers chose to jot down their emotions about Ganesh puja. Stills from the making of ‘Jai bolo Ganapati’ The biggest challenge, according to the singers was putting the mood and music together considering the three of them have different choice of music and melody. “We had to come to a common ground for the instrumentation of melody,” says MC Uneek. The video, directed by Abhishek Pallati, was shot in a narrow lane in a colony in Ramnagar. “It was wrapped up in a day. We took an informal permission from the local police station and the corporators to shoot the video in the colony. Permission was needed because we had to block the area till we finished shooting. Apart from us everyone in the colony was also pretty much excited. Nothing of that sort had happened there earlier,” says MC Uneek. Hemanth Muppuri did a good job of editing while rolling in the support shots. The singers say their idea for the video was conceptualised about a month back and by the time they got to work they barely had 14 days to make it all happen. “Eventually we did. The dancers in our video too did a wonderful job. Akhil was our choreographer. Tag team executed the video while we matched dance steps to the music by Rohit Babu.” adds Uneek. The over four-minute video has foot tapping music that draws everyone into the festive mood.
