Qutub Shahi Masjid of Maheshwaram: Demand to permit offering “Namaz”

When the local residents whitewashed the masjid and wanted to offer namaz, police obstructed saying that it is an archeological monument and hence permission cannot be given to offer namaz. Fareed had met Mr. Mohammed Saleem and presented a written complaint about this. This was disclosed by Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of TS Wakf Board. Mr. Saleem also instructed the local residents to lodge a complaint with the police. He instructed Wakf Board Officials to visit the masjid on 14th September and present a report.

Hyderabad: The hurdles put forth by police in offering namaz at Qutub Shahi Masjid located at Maheshwaram would be removed by talking to Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda. This was disclosed by Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of TS Wakf Board. A delegation led by Mr. M.A. Fareed had met Mr. Mohammed Saleem and presented a written complaint about this. It is reported that this masjid and land adjacent to it is a wakf property and it is entered in the gazette. He instructed Wakf Board Officials to visit the masjid on 14th September and present a report. Mr. Saleem also instructed the local residents to lodge a complaint with the police.
