more-in The handing over of the maintenance of the Nehru Outer Ring Road to private operators has received the final stamp of approval from the Ministry of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD). The details of the Concession Agreement were discussed at a high-level meeting at Secretariat on Monday chaired by Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar and attended by HMDA Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy and officials from Finance and Law departments. It was decided at the meeting to hand over the entire 158-km stretch of ORR, along with service roads on both sides, up to the right of way, to the TOT concessionaire. The concessionaire would carry out certain initial construction works on the ORR and thereafter operate and maintain the ORR as per stipulated performance parameters. In turn, the concessionaire would have the right to collect toll on the ORR for entire duration of the concession period. The quoted initial estimated concession value would be paid to the Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) within 150 days of signing the agreement. Officials said the draft Request For Proposal and draft concession agreement had been approved at the recently held HGCL board meeting.
