KCR cancels birthday celebrations in wake of J&K terror attack

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday decided to cancel his birthday celebrations in the wake of the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister conveyed deep condolences to the bereaved martyrs’ family members and wished speedy recovery of the injured. In a statement, he condemned Thursday’s terrorist attack on CRPF Jawans in Pulwama district. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief stated that as the entire nation is in a state of mourning, he desired to cancel all celebrations on account of his birthday falling on Sunday. KCR, as Rao is popularly known, appealed to the party leaders and workers not to celebrate the event in any form.
