I finally got to inaugurate these works in 2014.”The BJP MP had recommended a total of 231 works to the tune of Rs 34.79 crore. But the Hyderabad district administration, after scrutiny, sanctioned only 193 works to the tune of Rs 23 crore from MPLADS.He said he always gave priority to housing schemes, and when he was Union minister of state for urban development, he had launched the Valmiki Ambedkar Awas Yojana to build houses for the poor. About 3,000 houses were sanctioned in Hyderabad during the NDA-1 government. “I proposed 2 BHK houses for many areas. As a result, there are many slums in Secunderabad LS constituency, making it all the more necessary for taking up the housing programme,” the MP said.
