HYDERABAD: ‘Slapping star’ Balakrishna, as he has come to be known as for slapping fans, supporters and anyone who annoys him, the actor-politician did it yet again using abusive words – this time against a journalist – in Hindupur assembly constituency where he is contesting from in Andhra Pradesh.“I will kill you. Do you think our lives are in your hands? Delete the video?” a furious Balakrishna said to a video journalist in Hindupur assembly constituency on Wednesday. Balakrishna used much more harsh language in the video that went viral. However, late on Wednesday night, Balakrishna, perhaps realizing it was election time and should not rub anyone on the wrong side, issued some kind of an apology on his Facebook.“During my election campaign today I saw someone falling on children and taking a video. I thought they were anti-social elements and I reprimanded them. I got to know only later that they were media people. It was not my intention to shout at them. Please forgive me if I have hurt any of my media friends,” Nandamuri Balakrishna said.This, perhaps, is the first time ever that Balakrishna has actually said sorry about something he had done. In the past there have been several instances where he slapped, beat up or threatened anyone who dared to come close to him. During electioneering in the December 2018 elections in Telangana and also in the 2014 assembly elections, an abusive Balakrishna either physically dealt with someone or slapped them. On one occasion, he even threw the mobile phone of a person who had tried to take a selfie with him.Actor Balakrishna is seeking to win again from Hindpur assembly constituency in this assembly elections. While TDP president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu have been campaigning for party candidates in the state, it appears that they have restricted Balakrishna only to his constituency.
