CII-IGBCs 17th Green building Congress 2019 in Hyderabad

A+ A-Hyderabad: To further the Gree building movement in the country the state has been set by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will host the 17th edition of the Green Building Congress 2019 from September 25 to 28 at the HICC. Besides, the conference will also showcase new innovative and futuristic green building products materials and technologies. In addition to the conference, a three-day exhibition on green building products materials and technologies will be on display. Exclusive sessions on Green Homes and Affordable Housing Green Hospitality, Green Products Materials and Technologies and Green Landscapes and biodiversity will be held. The Conference’s sidelines will include IGBC Annual members meet, IGBC Leadership Awards Night, Green your school program design contest for architectural students and IGBC Green Leauge final quiz.

Srinivas Principal Advisor CII Godrej GBC, Shekhar Reddy Chairman INDIAN Green Building Council Hyderabad Chapter this four-day flagship event will further consolidate India’s leadership position and in the process offer growth opportunities for the building sector. There is growing evidence that green buildings not only conserve resources but will also enhance the quality of life of the occupants. Nearly 7 billion sq feet of space in India is going the IGBC way, as a result, it has facilitated India becoming one of the top five countries in the world in terms of largest registered green building footprint. Telangana they said stands at the fifth position after Mumbai and other cities in the green building footprint. Besides having important speakers the conference also aims at sensitizing young minds on the green . Besides, the conference will also showcase new innovative and futuristic green building products materials and technologies. Over 800 products will be on display. Taiwan alone will showcase at least 100 products. In addition to the conference, a three-day exhibition on green building products materials and technologies will be on display. Exclusive sessions on Green Homes and Affordable Housing Green Hospitality, Green Products Materials and Technologies and Green Landscapes and biodiversity will be held. The Conference’s sidelines will include IGBC Annual members meet, IGBC Leadership Awards Night, Green your school program design contest for architectural students and IGBC Green Leauge final quiz. This year the event will be attended by over 2000 delegates including delegates from Taiwan, gains more significance in view of the Government of India announcing 2019-20 year of Construction Technology according to Shekar Reddy Chairman IGBC Hyderabad chapter. On September 25 a curtain raiser program will be held with Dr. Shailendra Kumar Joshi Chief Secretary Government of Telangana as the Chief Guest, Ajay Misra special Chief Secretary Energy Department Mr. Jamshyd N. Godrej Chairman CII Godrej GBC V Suresh Chairman IGBC Mr. CsHEKAR Reddy Chairman IGBC addressing the session. On September 26 Indrakaran Reddy Minister for Forest Environment will be the Guest of Honours and deliver the address at the inaugural session to be held at 10 am. Mr. Mekapati Goutham Reddy Minister for Industries will inaugurate the IGBC Leadership Award Night at 7 pm on September 27 On a question that there is no incentives and that initiatives have to be taken by the builder on Green buildings Shekar Reddy said that State Government have come forward and declared incentives in different manners. However, the IGBC has placed some demands before the Telangana Government which has reacted positively and is also looking at constructing a Green Secretariat. It has sought the advice of IGBC on making the new Secretariat building green. They said that for the first time in the country marriage halls restaurants, integrated townships are seeking labels of “swatch Sarvekshan” And asked IGBC to work along with GHMC in labeling. They said that today Railways Hospitals Hotels etc are coming forward to be Green. More than 2000 delegates and above 8500 footfalls are expected this year they added. Ratna Chotrani
